Now for today’s devotional blog entry:

imgresI have heard people say, “I just don’t know how to be a good Christian. What am I supposed to be doing? I wish God would just tell me.” Well, if you’ve ever thought or uttered a sentiment like this, today’s you’re lucky day. I’ve come across God’s answer for you. He has spoken to both young and old, and has laid out plainly what you’re to do so you can’t miss it. Are you ready? Here goes.

Older men are to be:

  • Sober
  • Reverent
  • Temperate
  • Sound in faith, in love, in patience;

Older women are to be:

  • Reverent in behavior
  • Not slanderers
  • Not given to much wine
  • Teachers of good things
  • Admonishers to the young women

Young women are to:

  • Love their husbands
  • Love their children
  • Be discreet
  • Be chaste
  • Be homemakers
  • Be good
  • Be obedient to their own husbands (that the word of God may not be blasphemed)

Young men are to be:

  • Sober-minded
  • In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works
  • In doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, and sound speech that cannot be condemned (that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you)

Employees are to be:

  • Obedient to their own masters
  • Well pleasing in all things
  • Not answering back
  • Not pilfering
  • Showing all good fidelity (that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things)

Don’t take my word for this list. You’ll find this list in Titus 2:2-10 (NKJ). Once we finish getting ourselves lined up with this list, I don’t think we’ll be running back to God wondering about what He would have us to do. We’ll be doing it.
