1/27: Behave Wisely

By I Samuel chapter 18, it is evident that the spirit of the Lord has left Saul and is residing in David. Saul is jealous of David and seeks to kill him. However, four times in this chapter it says that David ‘behaved wisely.” At least three things resulted from David’s wise behavior: It saved his life; it caused his enemy to fear him; and it caused his name amoung the people to be highly esteemed.

As with David, so with us. No matter what our enemies may throw at us, we are always to behave wisely. Wise behavior will save our life, cause our enemies to fear us, and cause our name among the people to be highly esteemed. Praise the Lord.
