If God Had a Website

          If God had a website, it would be extremely easy to navigate. There would be three main pages: one for God the Father, one for God the Son, and one for God the Holy Spirit; but those three pages would all encompass one website. Each page would be inextricably connected to the other, yet each would be distinct. The overall name of the website would be something like www.TrueGodOfHeaven.com.

          For everything pertaining to God the Father, once you hit that tab, a menu would pop up giving you choices to get to know Him better. Listed attributes would be things like: King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, and God Who Alone is Wise (see I Timothy 1:17). Also in this list would be the “omni’s”: Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient (which mean everywhere present, all powerful, and all knowing). Access would always be available directly to God and the chat line for whatever you needed to talk with Him about would always be open and available.

           For everything pertaining to God the Son, once you hit that tab, the Jesus menu would read: Child born for us, Son given to us, Government Carrier, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace (see. Isaiah 9:6). Also in this list would be: Seeker and Savior of the Lost (see Luke 19:10), Only Name for Salvation (see Acts 4:12), and Heavenly Defense Attorney (see Romans 8:34). Jesus too would always be available to chat with you as your Brother, your Savior, and your Friend.

           Finally, for everything pertaining to God the Holy Spirit, once you hit that tab, the pull-down menu would read: Comforter, Guider to Truth, Glorifier of Jesus, and Revealer of Things to Come (see John 14:26 and 16:13-14). The pages concerning the Holy Spirit would be especially user-friendly because of our constant need for the energy it takes to live this Christian life. Once you got used to using the site, chatting with the Spirit would become as natural as breathing. It would be like a constant, internal conversation with the best life coach ever.

          The three—Father, Son, and Spirit—are one: eternal and inseparable yet distinct. The best human metaphor to explain the phenomenon of the Trinity is that of the sun. The sun is a real thing; it exists and has mass. That’s God the Father. The sun gives off light. That’s Jesus, God the Son, the light of the world. The sun gives off heat. That’s the power of God the Holy Spirit.

          But since God doesn’t have a website, we can access all of Him—as Father, as Son, and as Holy Spirit—via the longest running best seller on the market, the Bible. And here’s the great news: not only is the Bible available as an actual book you can hold in your hands, but it can also be accessed via the web (start at Biblegateway.com) and in many free, downloadable versions for your computer, iPad, iPhone, Kindle, Nook, etc.

          No excuses. Download God’s Word into your brain and heart. It’s easy. Just read it.
