Week 27, Day 2: Shine

Theme: Shine

Read and meditate upon how these verses relate to this week’s theme.

  •  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew5:16 (NKJ)
  • The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. Proverbs4:18(NIV)
  • Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter– when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:6-8 (NIV)
  • Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1-3 (NKJ)
  • For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. Ephesians 5:8 (NIV)
  • …continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life… Philippians 2:12-16 (NIV)

Prayer of Confession: Lord, I have not been a shining light for you in the following area(s): __________________________________________. Place Your light within me that I may shine in this/these areas once again.
