Week 26, Day 3: On Knowing Names

For each passage upon which you meditated yesterday, express something that moves you to thankfulness.

 Daniel 12:1-2

  • 1          “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book.
  • 2          And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. (NKJ)

 Revelation 3:5

  • 5          “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (NKJ)

 Revelation 13:3-4, 8

  • 3          And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.
  • 4          So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
  • 8          All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (NKJ)

 Revelation21:21and 27

  • 21        The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.
  • 27        Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. (NIV)

Prayer of Thanksgiving: Thank You that my name is written in indelible ink, never to be erased from the Book of Life. Thank You that having my name written in the Book of Life means I will know not to worship the beast. Thank You that I’ll experience Heaven, a place where nothing impure will ever enter. (Add your own additional thanks for having your name written in the Book of Life.)
