Week 10, Day 4 – Sent to be Spent

Week 10 – Day 4 – Sent to be Spent

Journal and/or pray through your further thoughts about being sent to be spent. Include ways in which God is leading you toward being spent for others. Also, express your gratefulness here and thank God for sending and spending you.

  1. Some of us have physical scars from incidents or accidents. Lots of us have emotional scars as well from poor choices, issues thrust upon us, losses, and problems. How might the Lord have you to use those scars to help others?
  2. Isaiah 61 listed Jesus’ job description. Which areas prick your heart as something He may be calling you to do?
    1. to preach good tidings to the poor
    2. to heal the brokenhearted
    3. to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound
    4. to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God
    5. to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness
  3. What is the “world” to which God is calling you to go into to teach and be a witness? Perhaps it’s your family, your job, your school, your neighborhood, your circle of friends, your city, your state, your country, or it may even be another nation.

Prayer of Supplication: Dear God, please show me how You want me to be a witness for You. How do you want to “spend” me? You have already given me the power; please supply the boldness.
