God Called

We get lots of phone calls, e-mails, and junk mail promising all kinds of deals. Advertisers tout that we can take advantage of a holiday sale on roofing, start a new career by attending a specific vocational school, and have younger-looking skin in 30 days by slathering on their product. All we have to do is call back, go to the website, or write in to get all the information.

The advertising efforts make sense. How else would we know about the products or businesses? I actually may need a new roof, a new career, and younger-looking skin one of these days. It’s perfectly logical that someone with something he/she deems valuable to offer would try to contact as many people as possible to promote the product or service.

Well, God called and He left a simple message: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJ). Even if we already have a new roof, a great career, and smooth skin, God’s got something valuable to offer that we all need—great and mighty things. Until we dial Him up, we won’t know what those things are. Every day we refuse to call is a day void of the great and mighty that God has for our lives.

What are you waiting for? Return His call.
